Ningaloo Reef

One stop along the way on our road trip north was at Coral Bay, about an hour south of Exmouth which was the farthest north we went. Here Ningaloo Reef is only about 1-2 km off shore in most places, and in others you can literally swim off shore and its right there. It is the largest fringe reef in the world, I think, and way cooler than the Great Barrier Reef because its so close. I don't actually know if its cooler. In Coral Bay we embarked on a kayak and snorkeling adventure. Our handy dandy guide Jerry, snapped these underwater pics.

The team:
I don't know what this is...

This was at a cleaning station over this giant cabbage coral. Reef sharks gather there to freshen up with a gill and tooth clean.

Sting ray!

We had some struggles with the group shot. That's me on the right.
